old - NWJR 48 Class 2-4-0
The North Western Junction Railway 48 Class was a class of 60 locomotives built between 1893 and 1897. They were designed by Angus Blackwood for miked traffic use on branchlines through out the NWJR's network. Starting in 1912, Robert A. Oliver began rebuilding them with belpaire fireboxes for improved performance. This ensured that they would last into ENR days.
