After the merger which formed the Eastern Counties Railway and the purchase of several railway companies left the ECR with a mixed bag of locomotives and rolling stock upon formation. Most were sold to willing buyers or simpley scrapped. Some saw departmental use while the ones that are listed on this page were numbered into the ECR's numbering scheme and saw main-line use until withdrawal. For new locos see
