ENR NB Class

The Etorean National Railway NB Class were a class of seven 0-6-0 tender locomotives built by the North British Railway in Scotland between 1888 and 1901. The class was formed of ex - NBR C Class (LNER J36) locomotives hence the name of the "NB" class. They were purchased from the War Department (UK) at the end of World War One for use by the newly formed Etorean National Railways.
The locomotives were built by the North British Railway in Scotland in the late 19th century for goods traffic to a design by engineers Mathew Holmes and Dugald Drummond, being built by the NBR's Cowlairs as well as by Neilson and Company and Sharp, Stewart and Company. In WW1, the several locomotives were requisitioned by the War Department for use on railways in France. Etorea joined the conflict in late 1915, providing many locomotives for use in the war, loosing many. When the conflict ended, the Government of Etorea apporached the War Office in England as well as te heads several railway companies to buy various locomotives to help with reconstruction efforts. These became the first official locomotives owned by the the Etorean National Railway Company. As the J36s had been government property, compensation was payed to the NBR with seven locomotives and a set of blueprints being purchased.
The locomotives were used on goods trains over the southern region of the ENR with them being kept at the Three Chimneys MPD. They survived until 1956 when they began to be withdrawn. All but two were scrapped by 1970 with them being preserved. One of the preserved locomotives, №50017, was used in the film The Man With No Face, with it being seen pulling an ambulance train at the start if the film.
