Auden Type "Haycroft"

The "Haycroft Type" is an class of 2-4-0T tank engines and one of the standard types of locomotives designed by the Reginald Auden Locomotive Company. They were built between 1898 and 1910 and were the first dedicated passenger locomotives built as a standard type by the company; they were used on various light railways, though some found use by mainline companies aswell.

The class was initially conceived in 1896 as a copy of the Beyer, Peacock 5'3" Standard 2-4-0T design of which a number were then in use by the (() Railway [Class Link Here]) and the (() Railway [Class Link Here]). The design evolved over the next two years until the first of the class was constructed and sent to Redwick as part of the 1898 Exhibition of Etorea (Think of a better name).
