Korginghton

Gnome town- Korginghton 

Located on the eastern tail edge of the continent. Home to artifice, flying contraptions and outside world trade.  

Located on the tip of a narrow peninsula mountain and the edge of the eastern desert. 

Most of the buildings are located in a subterranean cavern that opens to the seafront. has 13 foundries protruding above ground, sitting in geothermal craters. 

it is located partway through the wind barrier that surrounds the continent. The gnomes use their relative proximity to the outside world as well as their weather pattern predictions from their weather spire, to predict temporary gaps in the whirlwind.  

When this happens, a specialized flotilla sails quickly back and forth from an archipelago of small pirate owned islands located outside of the whirlwind and makes an exchange of goods.  

The fleet must make it back in time as there is no safe mooring point at the base of the cliff. The gnomes then make the exchange via their small fleet of flying contraptions and their cliff-side mechanical docks that can be lowered to the waterfront and elevated to the cave openings that lead into the city.

subplot option:

the city is located close to the flying city of the Genasi. in order to gain access to the Genasi city the party will need to locate a secret map to the air currents around the flying city as well as finding a flying ship in the ruined city close to Korginghton.

the flying Genasi city is the actual source to the Whirlwind and currents around it are especially strong and unpredictable. the map is an artifact crafted shortly before the dark miracle. it is said that it was crafted in part with the help of a brilliant young wizard (the Lich King). this artifact will most likely be kept in the possession of the local Navigational Guild .
