HammerForge
Mountain Dwarves
Vice- Overwork
Located in a vertical shaft like cavern within the spine of the world mountains.
At the bottom of the shaft there is a huge gaping maw full of jagged teeth in a circular concentric pattern.
This mouth is used as sacrificial orifice by the inhabitants. the local dwarves sacrifice most of their produce and occasionally other dwarves.
The walls of the cavern are covered in lightning shaped mineral veins in various colors- the most coveted one is the silver-hued mithril Veins
The dwarvs dwell in excavated veins. There is a balcony overhang from each branch. from the balcony there is a network of tunnels, halls and rooms of varied size.
On the far side there is a great forge. A huge pillar-like column is being raised into a shaft in the ceiling of the cavern and then dropped on the forge with a loud bang every 10 minutes (also the source of timekeeping). The forge is used to reduce the mithril ore to small ingots.
The cavern is always full of sounds of the dwarvish workers work-song, the banging of their tools and the impact of the huge forge.
There are other veins that are being slowly excavated for other purposes. Each color of ore has a separate guild of dwarves licensed to mine it.
The dwarves work hard around the clock and idleness is considered a sin, but to no avail. They do not trade and most of their produce is sacrificed to the huge mouth of the slumbering alien gods mouth, beneath.
