Burzum- Hell Circle

An underground city of demonic litigation.

It is accessed by an elevator that descends to sulfuric gas filled rift in the ground. At the far bank of the rift there is a giant statue of a horned demon holding a platform (fulcrum shaped). The platform is the elevator to the demonic city.

The city is an everchanging labyrinth.

There are 9 tiers constantly shifting like a puzzle. in the center there is a large keep of black obsidian. there is a constant flow of lava from above that lines the streets.

In this city characters can find vendors of dubious bargains.

Upon entering the city proper the characters will find themselves in a large tunnel that winds slightly in a circular pattern. on each side there will be domiciles built into the cavern wall. moats of lava flow parallel each wall and bridged by small bridges to reach each building. the lava flows from the ceiling in spots to those moats.

Each building is adorned by a brass gong with a face (either of a mortal race or some sort of beast or demon). the gongs vary in size and ornaments and seem to represent the affluence of the dwellers. each hour on the hour the faces will scream and the gongs will be struck to make a loud chime. after that the cavern will shift in a random rubics cube pattern. some sections will shift as a segment, some as a raw of buildings etc. in the end a new pattern of buildings will emerge. the characters will need to roll saving throws to avoid the splatter of lava and being crushed by shifting stone. it is also possible, though risky to ride the shift to a different tier of the labyrinth altogether.

navigation in the city is extremely difficult even to previously visited locations.
