We are falling back. We can't let the French be aware, as they will press the advantage. In order to remain secretive, we are moving the army and needed supplies during the night. However, we quickly learned the French would use their creeping barrages to track us. As a result, we have been falling back in complete darkness. We have lost many from falling from the Alps to their death. Who knows how many more that are lost have ended up at the bottom of the ravine. Is it best to waste so many lives needlessly in the dark like this?
