Letter from Quartier-maƮtre Michelet Mettelus
Haitian Royal Navy
October 1st, 1945
The British stood little chance. The Battleship
Henri Christophe was victorious in battle. At the bottom of the Caribbean lay many of their ships. We are beginning to land in Port Royal to liberate the Jamaican people from the British slave masters. This is a glorious day for Haiti. Long live our great kingdom.
