Accounts from LtCol Kazimir Baranov,
We came to support our allies in China against the occupying force of the Japanese. Many of the villages here in Manchuria hailed us as liberators. I had hoped to find villages willing to take up arms in support, and have found no shortage of this in the surrounding area. I have recently discovered the reason. Upon our travels, a patrol came across a strange site, a large swath of land recently disturbed. I ordered the ground to be excavated, and quickly came to regret that decision. What we found was a mass grave. Men, women, children. Fighting age, elderly, and not even the babes were spared. This is cruelty. This is barbarism.
