Louisiana

Louisiana is a state within the Kingdom of America, bordering Sequoyah, Mississippi, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texas.

History

The Louisiana Territory was a part of France until the end of 1762, where France ceded it to Spain. However, with the rise of Napoleon in France, the territory was taken back in 1800.

During the Franco-American Wars, the Kingdom of America pursued the French and Spanish forces into the territory following the death of Crown Prince Louis Ferdinand. The Louisiana Conquest ended in an American victory, where the territory retained its name, but in honor of Crown Prince Louis instead.

Louisiana, much like the American south, saw their loyalties tested during the Texas Rebellion. Though many politicians supported Texas, the high number of black Americans in the state saw much of its population side with the federal forces. As a result, significant infighting occurred in the state. With the victory of the federal forces and the end of slavery in America, this population was given grants in the new territory of Freeman, and were relocated. As a result, the state's population dropped by roughly a quarter to a third.
