Memoirs of Otani Hotaru
Why we were there, no one could say. Many claimed it was because of the Japanese attack on Guam. But how could that be? No one here is a soldier. Many of us have never even seen the Japanese homeland before, and those that have are years separated. Yet, here we are, rounded up as though we were some kind of common criminals or spies. The guards glare at us as though we could not be trusted. They know nothing of us. They know nothing of our spirit. They know nothing.
