Sentence from Col James Houser
American Marine Corps

April 7th, 1948

On the morning of April 3rd, the accused ordered his squad into a village in the region of Papua. While there, the accused ordered his squad to fire upon the civilians indiscriminately, killing or wounding most of the village including women and children. The accused also ordered the mutilation of many of the bodies, including hanging from tree tops. The accused plead not guilty. It will be noted the accused defended the actions, stating the village was harboring Japanese soldiers that had earlier ambushed his company. No evidence of this was found at the scene. The accused has been found guilty, and will be executed by firing squad.
