Memoirs of Gen Okamoto Yukio
Imperial Japanese Army
December 23rd, 1950
I have ordered a final attack on the Americans for tomorrow. We are not expected to survive, let a lone emerge victorious, but we will die with honor. It is at this time I remember the great warriors who came before. I remember Kusunoki Masashige and Minamoto Yoshitsune, hoping to embody their loyalty to the emperor. Even the samurai Kondo Isami, though an enemy to the emperor, still fought with honor for his beliefs. May the actions of these men be as revered as those that came before them.
