The Primal Aspects

The scholars of the Shadowheart Academy in Vargeth, through their studies of the Abyss, have come to realize a fundamental truth about the Astralverse.   Reality seems to be made up of and governed by the interaction of two primal aspects of creation; the Aspect of Balance and the Aspect of Chaos. These two forces are unknowable and all encompassing. They do not have sentience and are more acurately described as forces of nature. The Aspect of Balance governs order, creation, and lawfulness, while the Aspect of Chaos governs disorder, destruction, and the entropy of the Astralverse. All things within creation are made of the interaction of these forces.   It is predicted that, eventually, the Aspect of Chaos will begin to overcome Balance, destroying all of creation until the Astralverse condenses down into a single point. At this time, the end of creation, it is believed that Balance will overcome Chaos and the creation will begin again.   It is hypothesized that the Aspect of Balance created the Celestials, while the Aspect of Chaos created the Dragons.
