The Town of Raidian
The town of Raidian is located on the edge of the Raidian Sea. It has a population of about 700 people. They are known mainly for the fort, Fort Smith, which is very near to the town. They are also known for the large population of fishermen and the amazing fish. Once a month the King orders a great quantity of fish they are so well known. There are also some nice furr shops there, which are known, even to the duke.
This is writen from the perspective of a person walking into Raidian. It is of walking up from the south on the Seaside Rd.
I had spent the night at Arcen and was walking through the countryside nearing Raidian. There were several farmers going into sell goods in the town square or along the road. A couple of farmers rolled their carts up beside me,"Hey, stranger!" one said,"looks to me like you need a ride. Go ahead and—" "Aw, come on Joe!" the other one cut him off,"You said that you'd let me ask him." Joe looked over at him."Yeah, but you was so much slower then me I figured that you wouldn't want to keep 'im waitin'" "Well at least let me interduce myself," the second farmer answered,"Stranger, my name's Sam, Sam Hunter, an' this here is my nextdoor neighbor, Joe Sternarm. An' if you'd be so kind so as to ride with me, I'd be a heep thankful." Joe said,"Now, now, don't go tryin' to get hold of this stranger's sampathy. Stranger, you chose which of us you's goin' to ride with." "Hey, but I was just tellin the truth!" "Oh, no you weren't." While they were still argueing, another cart rode up and the driver said,"hop on" and so I did. "What's your name?" he asked."Erland Ivery," I said. He nodded."Mine's Otto Galway." As we passed the still argueing Joe and Sam, they looked over and Sam said,"Come on, Otto, he was goin' to come with me!" Joe leaned almost out of the cart and hit Sam square in the ear. "No he wasn't! He was coming with me!" Then Sam leaned over and hit him right back. "That hert! And he was coming with me!" We left them while they were still sqabbling about who I was going to go with. As we entered the town I saw a man walk out of a shop with a crate. He seemed to carry it with care. I glanced at the sign which said POTS AND PANS POTTERY SHOP . Then we passed a bakery named PASTRY SHOP OF WONDERS and I smelled the smell of all the great thing to eat coming out of an open window. I saw a boy run out of a house to the left and down the road."Late again, George?" Otto called out,"He is always late for school." He said to me."You have a school here and he has enough to go?" "Yes and no. We do have a school here, but he gets to go because he works for the schoolmaster, Gallen." I heard the bang of hammers as we passed the Obsidian Blacksmith
