Requires AttunementThe Edge of Strife is a massive greatsword made of an unknown material. The surface is a pitch black metal. The crossguard is circular and the centre is filled with a clear material. When activated, the sword’s edge glows with an ominous purple colour and the crossguard displays a strange symbol.
Abilities:
- Change Form: Once per turn, the wielder may use a bonus action to change the form of the weapon between a set of gauntlets, a longsword, a greatsword, a greataxe, a shortsword, a handaxe, or a spear. If the weapon has the thrown property, it will automatically return to the wielder’s hand after being thrown.
- Destructive Application: Once per turn, when the wielder scores a critical hit, they can channel the sword’s power to deal an additional 2d6 fire and 2d6 force damage.
- Nexis Arts: The Edge of Strife has three Nexis charges. 1d2 +1 charges are restored at each dawn. The wielder can use an Action to spend a charge to trigger a Nexis Art which causes a symbol to appear on the clear glass guard and can cause a variety of different effects. Only one Nexis art may be activated per turn
- 炸 Eruption: The wielder can slam the Edge of Strife into the ground, sending shockwaves of fiery energy in a 15-foot cone. Creatures in the area must make a Dexterity saving throw against a dc of 8 + Wielder’s primary ability + Proficiency bonus. Creatures who fail the save take 2d6 fire + 2d6 force damage and are knocked prone. Creatures who succeed the save take half damage.
- 慄 Fear: You invoke the destructive power of the Edge of Strife to instil overwhelming fear into a target. The target must make a wisdom saving throw against 8 + Wielder’s primary ability + Proficiency bonus or become frightened. While affected by this, the target cannot willingly move closer to the source of its fear and has disadvantage on attack rolls and ability checks while within sightline of the source of its fear. In addition, while the target is frightened by this attack, attacks made against the target are made at advantage. The target can try to save against this effect at the end of each of its turns.
- 壊 Breaker: You activate the the Edge of Strife, channelling destructive energy into your next blow. While in this state, your next melee attack will deal an extra 2d6 fire & 2d6 force damage. This effect can stack with the extra damage added by special attacks such as a battlemaster’s manoeuvres.
