Viresska of the Flowers

Female elf, one of the noble family of Clan Eight-star. She is the middle child of Melenduil and Tuilka Taimana, the last hereditary rulers of Clan Eight-star.

In her youth, she and her sisters (the elder Nareka, and younger Lotesska) were known within their family as "the three wild roses of the glade" for their carefree nature. This happy time was cut short when Kyelendar Piara took back control of Clan Starbinder and renewed his war with the clans of the Forest of Arduvei. The sisters were scattered and sought sanctuary wherever they could. Viresska's journey took her to the Astral Plane, where she found shelter with a clan of githzerai.

She spent several decades with the githzerai, training as a battle monk. She learned discipline and austerity along with mastering a variety of weapons. Somewhere along the way, she also acquired a magical oversized hat covered in living purple blossoms. These flowers never die, though they can wilt and begin losing their magic until Viresska waters them. Their petals can be removed and used for various magic purposes as well. Viresska considers the hat a concession to vanity, which allows her to maintain her discipline in other respects.

In the final battle against Kyelendar Piara, Viresska pulled his surviving son Rothilion from his father's clutches, saving him from the horrifying fate of being bolted into a starsilver golem body. At her request, the grievously wounded Rothilion was taken to Vivane's home beneath the waters of Lake Lazuli to be healed in mind and body. Some suspect that Viresska is harboring tender feelings toward the younger Piara; Viresska is endeavoring to keep the truth of this very much to herself for now.
