Mathaye Saltonstall
Elder female half-elf, a priestess of the Cat Lord, resident of the tiny village of Gaentalos in the far west of the Forest of Arduvei.
Mathaye has lived and served the village of Gaentalos for well over a hundred years. When a colony of illithids took up residence near the village, many of its residents were taken or fled. Mathaye has always remained, doing all she can to protect the people and cats of the village. Over time, the village's population declined to two small families, the owner of the trading post (who had taken to serving as a middleman between slavers and the illithids), and Mathaye, who despite advancing age, continued to protect them all as best she could.
With the downfall of the illithids and slavers, Mathaye has become the de facto leader of Gaentalos, and she hopes that it can become a friendly, safe and thriving trading stop on the forest road once again.
