When Kyelendar Piara and his sons overthrew Leelavati's parents Nienna Devidulkhan (of Clan Starbinder) and Mathion Gyardin (of Clan Four-star), Leelavati and her brother were held hostage in the Starbinder court. They were looked after and protected -- as best she could -- by Tamada, herself an heir to the dead Clan Ravenlock.
