Binding the Star Clans
Full title: Binding the Star Clans: a first hand account of the elven clan wars of the Arduvei Realm; how it began, how it ended, and how it could begin again.
Author: Eithne Merrakeyan
This book covers the first outbreak of the Starbinders' efforts to conquer the other elven clans of Arduvei.
It was copied from the Sangrey manor in Moaning Strand.
The first section, an introduction to the full narrative, reads as follows:
Most of the high elves of Keradrin live within the Forest of Arduvei and its immediate vicinity. Some 350 years ago, there were ten high elven clans. Each claimed its own dominion, and the ten dominions coexisted peacefully within a more or less feudalistic system. When Kyelendar Piara came to the leadership of Clan Nine-Star, for reasons that are still unexplained (though this witness has some suspicions and theories, which we will delve into later), he set out to unify all the clans under his control. He changed the name of his clan to Starbinder, changed its symbol to a nine-pointed star wrapped in chains, and set out on a campaign of terror, assassination, and open warfare against the other clans. Before the fighting came to an end, Clans Silvermere and Pathwind had been destroyed, and the Ravenlock and Eight-star clans were decimated. The fighting stopped only when Nienna Devidulkhan, Princess Starbinder, overthrew her uncle and took control of the clan. She then married Mathion Gyardin of Clan Four-Star to solidify the restored peace.
