Anskar Pernell
Generally referred to by his surname and title, Lord Anskar Pernell is the halfling co-leader of Clan Ten-Star, an extended community of elves and halflings whose homelands are along the southern border of the Forest of Arduvei.
Clan Ten-Star is the smallest of the surviving clans of the Starbinder wars, and is unique among the clans in that it is a mixed community of high elves and halflings, and has been for centuries.
During the second Starbinder war, Clan Ten-star's lands were raided frequently by Starbinder forces, and during one of these raids, Pernell's grandson Childeric was taken and sold as a slave, eventually ending up in the lair of a small colony of illithids. Childeric managed to survive and was later rescued.
Pernell himself was taken in another raid and carried off to the Starbinder stronghold in the last year of the war, before being rescued.
After the war was brought to an end, Pernell led refugees back to the Ten-Star clanhome, and is beginning the process of rebuilding. As the clan's co-leader, Pernell took responsibility for orphans and refugees among his clanfolk, and gave final permission for Satora Elemiel and Tercero Zurzel-Ablaze to adopt the young orphan girl Tsilaba Silverwood.
Pernell is entering old age, but his drive and enthusiasm are that of a far younger halfling.
