Kyonshii are pale, cold-skinned humanoids with stiff limbs. They often wear traditional burial garments or robes, with paper talismans affixed to their foreheads or bodies to suppress or control their spiritual energies.

Darkvision   Hovering. You are able to hover up to 10 feet off the ground. When you aren't hovering, your stiff body forces you to move by hopping rather than walking normally.   Undead Resilience. You have resistance to necrotic damage and advantage on saving throws against effects that would turn undead. Additionall you do not need to eat, drink, or breathe.   Paper Talisman. While you have a paper talisman affixed to your body, you gain +2 to Wisdom saving throws and advantage on saves against charm effects. However, if the talisman is forcibly removed or destroyed, you must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw (DC 15) or become temporarily feral, attacking the nearest creature until you regain control at the end of your next turn.   Life Drain. As an action, you can make a melee spell attack against a creature within 5 feet of you. On a hit, the target takes 1d6 x proficiency + your Constitution modifier necrotic damage. You regain hit points equal to the full necrotic damage dealt.
  • Overwhelming Drain: If you reduce a creature to 0 hit points with this ability, you immediately gain temporary hit points equal to twice your level, which last for 1 minute, and you can take the Dash action as a bonus action on your next turn.
  • Limited Uses: You can use this feature once per short or long rest.
