Dalos

The polytheistic religion that the Averi and Strathi believe in. Their symbol is the Four-Pointed Star, which also represents the interconnected pantheon of deities that are worshipped.

Gods/Goddesses in the Pantheon

The Dalos pantheon is broken into three levels of being: the Gods of Beings, the Gods of Manifestation, and the Goddesses of Time. And then above them all lies the Goddess of Fate.

The Gods of Being

The Dalos faith declares that there is a deity that shapes the stages of life. All life begins at the same point; however, men and women take a different path that leads to death. This creates the four corners of the Four Pointed Star.
  • Baebin, the Deity of Children
  • Tethys, the Goddess of Women
  • Kaemu, the God of Men
  • Oedeni, the Goddess of Death
Each stage of life has its own precious metal and stone associated with it. When a child reaches the age of four, they are given one of the Amulets of Dalos, made from copper with an emerald at its center. Once they come of age - girls when they have their first menstruation cycle, boys when they have achieved "The Great Hunt", they exchange their copper amulet for one of silver with a sapphire for girls and a ruby for men. Upon the birth of their grandchildren, they then are given a golden amulet with a diamond to symbolize they have reached the level of Elder, to be revered and honored within their community.

The Gods of Manifestation

In addition to the Gods of Being, there are several traits that are associated with existence within every person. These are symbolized by the circle within the square, with each part of the circle that touches the triangles indicating a part of life's cycle.
  • Zaendeir, the God of Trickery and Mischief (associated with Baebin)
  • Keinadu, the Goddess of Wisdom and Patience (associated with Oedeni)
  • Taendieka, the Goddess of Love and Beauty (associated with Tethys)
  • Leishan, the God of Honor, Valor and War (associated with Kaemu)

The Goddesses of Time

Forming the outside of the ring are the Goddesses of Time, each representing a season in its cyclical path.
  • Simeiya, the Goddess of Summer, associated with the transition from child to Man.
  • Oekeina, the Goddess of Spring, associated with the transition from child to Woman.
  • Wekeisa, the Goddess of Autumn, associated with the transition from Man to Elder.
  • Taedina, the Goddess of Winter, associated with the transition from Woman to Elder.

The Goddess of Fate

Above all of the other deities, Kaheina the Goddess of Fate rules. While the others are seen in corporal creatures and forms, she is omnipresent without physical form. The open circle in the center of the Four-Pointed Star is meant to indicate her corporal presence, or,with the Amulets of Dalos using a gemstone, the key position that she has over the other twelve deities.
