Gates

There is no way out. The lights within the frames have died. Communication with the other side has failed, both from the allowed means between the Goliath guards and those secret means the people act like they do not have. Calculations for the longevity of supplies have already begun. We will not make it long if the malfunction is cataclysmic. Not if we continue as we are. The world forgot us long ago, can we remember how to act as a people with how long we have been separated from our own?

  Gates are the places that mark safe (relatively) travel to and grom Keltrex and the outer world. While gates have no uniform appearance, they are all made of a metal alloy to date unidentified on the element table and seem to be powered by energies within the void. The great majority of stable gates use a circular or half circle frame that range from about 20-100ft in diameter. Though there are some smaller gates that stray from the norm in their appearance and may be used for less common travel. Inside the gate frames an energy field creates the actual passage between locations, acting as a tear in space that allows people to pass from Keltrex to Earth or Moon and back.   At current the functioning gates of entry and exit are: [list here]   However, there are gates that are far less stable. Broken gates exist in unpredictable locations, and to date there has not been a stable way to repair them. Primarily because there has been no success in replicating the alloy that they are made of and other metals failing to sustain the gates. Some of these gates activate randomly, but these are unstable occurrences for several reasons. The first is that these gates are unstable, holding for unpredictable amounts of time. The second is location, as these gates are not always locked to a corresponding gate on the other side as was their design. These gates are also often in dangerous locations in the modern day, whether that be deeper in the mangroves where nature reigns and monstrous abominations hide, or down in the ocean depths drifting through void waters and expelling cataclysmic levels of sea water on the other side. Passing through a broken gates comes with not only these risks, but the risk of affect to ones own body if the tear in space causes lasting damage in its malfunction or spits one out somewhere far from assistance or return.
