A Brief History of Kelidonia

Beginnings
The original settlement that would eventually become Kelidonia is said to have first appeared in circa 930BUC, called Kelshom, founded by a Keled (or Kelod, Keldon, Keldan, records vary). A stone marker can still be found at what is thought to be the original site, bearing an inscription 'Kelshom'   The Decline of Magic
As Kelshom was founded before the decline of magic, there are reference to magical events in the settlement itself, and stories brought back from travelers. So too, are there some records telling of the fear that the decline of magic caused, as the reliance on magics, both the elemental and the arcane.   Fledgling Kingdom
It would be 230 years later, in about 700BUC, before Kelidonia declared itself a Kingdom, under Balon Keled, after other settlements were slowly enveloped the society that had developed in Kelshom. Balon claimed a lineage from the founder of Kelshom, hence styling himself 'Keled', and so asserting the right to rule   First Elven Conflict
The establishment of the Elven country of Evernal had started to flourish after their Dark Age following the loss of magic and being cut off from ancestral home of the Fae Realm. With the expansion and land grab of both Evernal and Kelidonia, there was bound to the disputes as to where border lines would be set. Indeed, the four years of this conflict was mostly pushing the battle lines back and forth.   Second Elven Conflict
  Death of the King
At some point during the Second Elven conflict, the last King of the Keled Line was captured and ultimately killed, although the body was not found for a long while after the end of that conflict. Of course, blame was placed on the Elves, as continues in the epitaph that is still spoken today, 'Glory be to the last true king, murdered by cowardly Elves'   Years of Elven Rule
Following the death of their king, Kelidonia fell under the rule of the Elves of Evernal, being declared a province, and Calieth de Wydra, cousin to the Superious (the Elven Ruler) at the time, to extend the rule and law to Kelidonia. Rebellions were quashed and records of the Last King were destroyed as far as possible.   Duvenant Rebellion and return to Local Monarchy
In 509BUC, Alain Duvenant rose a rebellion, raising a banner based on the Royal Keled crest.   Third Elven Conflict
The third Elven conflict was the design of Balon III, some say touting revenge for the murder of the Last King and the Elven Rule that followed, despite these events being almost 300 years prior.   Fourth Elven Conflict
  The Talis Monarchy
King Harland II, proving to be an unpopular ruler, was eventually deposed by the Higher Council who then sought out his estranged younger brother Valrik, who had since married to Alissa Talis, and was living in Talinwold, Notsley, at his wife's family home. It is said that Valrik needed much persuasion, and finally relented thanks to his wife's encouragement, traveling to the capital, Duville on 26th of the 4th Month of 78BUC. The coronation, took place a week later, where there was some commotion over King Valrik opting to use his married name instead of reverting back to Duvenant, and further consternation as the new King's decree was that the capital should be renamed Talisborough. It seemed clear that Valrik was determined to set a clean slate for his rule.   The Treaty of Altibia
Fall of Talis Monarchy and Rule of the Fae King
On the death of King Edric III, a mysterious individual known as the Fae King appeared, citing his right to the throne   Amena Talis, Battles of Succession, and the Talis Restoration
