Walton

Lord Walton is a dwarf the party first met in the town of Newport, where he was recruiting adventurers as both guides and protection for a dangerous trip into the Iceridge Mountains. While the party considered his offer and gradually prepared for the trip, they ended up involved in an upheaval in the town, during which, the dwarf went missing. He was later found to have been kidnapped by Mayor Trigby of Newport (who was secretly the king of the Azer dwarves, fled from his own dying world and hiding in Vaead.) The party rescued Walton during their triumphant defeat of Trigby and left with the dwarf in tow.   For a while, Walton was happy to travel with his new companions and helped them with their quests, until settling in Gravesford when the town was bestowed upon the party for saving the south-western towns from the rampaging centaur threat. He stayed there as a miner and assisted in the revigoration of Gravesford.   When the party returned from the Siege of Nurem and began to investigate the other Codicies, Walton brought up the expedition that had initially brought them together months prior and suggested that the destination - the fabled Athenaeum - was the same place Gwenyvar described King Ethar and Archmage Bertrand working from in their own mysterious pursuits. A Codex might just be there.   Walton is one of the groups longest standing companions. That being said, he has never talked about himself, since no one has ever asked. The party know that he is an exile from the dwarven stronghold of Lozzak. He possesses a small crystaline mechanism, which he has since suggested is part of the Pick - the key to the Athenaeum.
