The Burning Fist
Whispers of a great menance from the Sunderlands are passed around between the commonfolk more and more often. Tales of a great, terrible horde of unwashed and unkempt warrior monsters that form a great army to rival that of any empire. Growing fear in Pallas as travellers from Ashenmont bring tales of the horde and the threat it poses against their city - for it grows closer and closer with each passing day.
In reality, the Burning Hand is a great union of goblin kind. United by Hob clans in the wilderness of the Sunderlands by a powerful Hob warlord, the Burning Hand is fanatically devoted to the ancient and mythological religions of the long dead dragons, which has raised suspicion from those who hear the tales of travellers from Ashenmont and other areas close to the Sunderlands.
Though, like Hobs, the Burning Fist originates in the Sunderlands, its reach extends beyond that region, and parties of Hobs with goblin footsoldiers bearing the sigil of a fist aflame have been seen as far down as the western coasts of the continent.
Leading this great legion is a supposed Half Dragon Hob, though these rumours are quite outlandish to those who hear of them. All of the talk of dragons has led many to believe that the great tyrants of Karthica's dark age may soon return. Those leaders who reside close to the Sunderlands, however, advocate a swift expedition into that dangerous region to put the threat down quickly, as well as any talk of dragons and other dark matters. As has always been the case, however, political matters mean that the Sunderlands will likely continue to go untouched.
One can only hope that the legends told of the Burning Fist are proven wrong in the end...
