Sardoron
The former capital of Pallas is more of a fortress than merely a city. At least, it once. Sardoron, since the war, has become known as the Bleeding City. Libertia's armies assaulted the city during the war to the point of destroying it rather than capturing it. Despite the damage to its walls and fortress, it still stands. The inner citadel- known as ‘The Mainfold’ - is tucked away behind crumbling, huge walls that form a grand castle within the city. Outside of it lies a bustling but small town; Sardoron is a compact city compared to Nurem. The city was occupied briefly by troops from Libertia, before the republic encouraged the rise of a 'legitimate successor' to King Ethar to ascend to the throne of the kingdom.
King Henrik rules over a small kingdom, however. Restoring the kingdom under Libertian eyes has not reunited the realm. The new king tells the population that the gods punished Ethar for his dangerous ambition, and the city has become increasingly swayed to his rhetoric. Opinion of the new order in Sardoron is mixed: on one hand, some see the potential of the new king to heal the ruined kingdom and restore Pallas to its past glory and civilised state. On the other, others see the new monarch as little more than a Libertian puppet, and see any success that Sardoron has as success for the Republic to claim Pallas as their own.
Sardoron is famous for the armies and knights that have trained and sallied forth from within its foreboding defences, including @Steed's Roost, the old home of the Knight's hippogriff mounts. The Knights of Sardoron are renowned across Karthica. Knights are anointed here, and come to Sardoron begin their training before being free to seek masters in the rest of the country. The Parthenon of the High Gods - the most holy site for the faith - is located within The Mainfold.
