Dór Curin

Dór Curin (Eldar for 'Land Stewards') is an ancient organisation of druids. This elven group has existed for eons with the singular goal of protecting the world, in its natural form, from the carelessness of mortals and the worst threats that bear nature harm.   Dór Curin arose in the Feywood, supposedly in a time when the woods covered much of modern Pallas and northern Libertia. As such, it is closely tied, culturally, with the Eld Taurë - the Wood Elves - who continued to consult and work alongside the small group for dozens of generations.   Druids are relatively uncommon in the Age of Restoration and Dór Curin consists of little more than twenty members in 1245. As nature itself has declined, so have its protectors. The known Archdruids in Dór Curin are:
  • Ailuin
  • Erolith
  • Wyllow
  • Delimira
  • Madris
Becoming a druid of Dór Curin usually happens with little direct cause. Oftentimes, it is simply through uncertain odds or circumstances, and the druids of Dór Curin encourage this. New practitioners are often found simply through a druid of the order finding a promising candidate on their various quests. This being said, a candidate must be truly promising and hold great potential for the druid to invite them into the order. They are additionally exclusively Eldar.   Once a candidate is selected, the druid will train the new apprentice, sometimes for centuries before they are considered to be experienced enough to become a true druid of Dór Curin. The Eldar do, afterall, have a long world view.   Dór Curin is very decentralised. Some members of the small order have barely spoken at length with one another. It is very rare that the members of the order will come together to discuss important matters - Archdruids will communicate fairly often, but otherwise, a druid's mission is her own.   Dór Curin has, however, recently become quiet. After a rumoured gathering of the Archdruids, perhaps less than four years prior, they travelled as a group for the first time in thousands of years to Blackmoon forest, to investigate a disturbance there. Since then, none of them have been seen. Dór Curin may be subsequently threatened, as its remaining members stand leaderless and apart from one another.   What happened in Blackmoon Forest is yet to be resolved, but its proximity to the Maelstrom is an encouraging link.
