Ashenmont

Standing proudly atop a great mesa of Pallas' north east, Ashenmont is a city steeped in legacy, grandure and prestige.   Prior to the Unification of Pallas in 1170, Ashenmont was the seat of House Barroteur, whose kings and queens had ruled the Kingdom of Tharor for many centuries prior. Lord Karlon Barroteur is the current ruler of the city, and is perhaps just as renowned as the city itself due to his accomplishments as a general during the Great War.   High on its perch on a great mesa, Ashenmont is the last stop of civilisation before the Sunderlands. The city is hot and dry, and challenges those who choose to call it home.    The city has become a hub for those seeking fortunes and adventures due to both its proximity to danger in both the Iceridge Mountains and the Sunderlands, and from the growing groups of knights and men-at-arms that flock to Lord Karlon's army.   While the heart of Pallas may soon fall into war once more, Ashenmont has the privilege of being too far removed and too difficult to capture by either of the great powers looking hungrily inward.
