The Fracturing
In the dawn of all things, when the light of Dotani flowed like rivers across Karal’dei, the world knew no pain. The firstborn races—crafted by Dotani’s own breath—lived in the harmony of the Prime Aspects. Life, Knowledge, Justice, Light, and Joy were as natural to them as breathing. They sang with the winds, shaped forests with their thoughts, and learned directly from the Aspects themselves.
But as time passed, a question stirred among the mortal hearts:
“What might we build on our own?”
It was not arrogance that first guided them, but curiosity—the echo of Logocia's whisper. Nor was it rebellion, but independence—the seed of Razdraganost's mirth. They longed to craft joy from their own hands, judge their own fate, and live free from the gentle boundaries Dotani placed around them.
So the mortals walked away—not in hatred, but in hope.
Dotani, whose love is infinite, did not stop them. Instead, he veiled himself in the Highest Realm, speaking now only through his Aspects. The warmth of his presence faded. The blessings of perfect harmony waned. Without the Creator's direct hand, the world slowly unraveled.
Into this void crept Repugnus, a mortal king who once drank deeply of Dotani’s magic and twisted it to his will. Seeing the world bereft of its guardian, he rose like a shadow cast by their freedom.
Where once Dotani's Prime Aspects guided the people, Repugnus unveiled his Evils:
- Where Life had been, now Death.
- Where Knowledge had dwelled, Deception.
- Where Justice reigned, now Corruption.
- Where Light illuminated, Darkness fell.
- Where Mirth lifted spirits, Hatred consumed them.
Repugnus whispered a cruel , twisted answer to that first question:
“Dotani offers silence, I offer power and action. Is power not the freedom to build what we desire?"
And so suffering entered the world—not as a punishment, but as a consequence. Mortals had asked to shape their own destiny. Dotani, loving them deeply, let them try—even if it meant enduring pain.
Yet Dotani has not abandoned them. Through his Aspects, he offers guidance, healing, laughter, truth, and light. And the Church of Dotani teaches that one day, mortals—by their own hands—will mature enough in Goodness, Magic, and Knowledge to cast down Repugnus and restore balance.
Until then, every act of kindness, every pursuit of wisdom, and every selfless deed is a step back toward the Creator.
