Volodymyr
God of Vengeance & Sacrifice for Revenge
Seen as a necessary evil, other primis do not like Volodymyr. He is surprisingly plain, tall, broad-shouldered, and is generally depicted with a faraway expression. On the rare occasion he's identified amongst mortals he dons a heavy brown cloak and simple robes dyed purple and blue. Volodymyr has one glassy eye that is referenced frequently in myths.
Signifcant Parables & Stories
Volodymyr & MaenarIn the tale as sung by bards, the sun-god Landr learned that Volodymyr and Maenar were secretly engaging in a romantic tryst, and most scandleously they were meeting in the temple hall of Anyrax! Anyrax and Volodymyr are fierce enemies and Maenar a very close ally, which could make such an affair quite offensive to Anyrax. Landr made no attempt to keep this secret and eventually Anyrax learned of what was happening in her sacred temple. Contriving to catch the pair in the act, Anyrax arranged several precisely-timed events with which to expose and humiliate them. At the appropriate time, this trap was sprung, and the lovers were humiliated in a very compromising position.
Anyrax was not satisfied with simply having caught the two and arranged for hundreds of their worshippers to find them in the hall. Some commented on the beauty of Maenar, not realizing that the two were actually powerful primis while others remarked that they would eagerly trade places with either of the two, but all who were present mocked the two, believing them to be either actors or artists. Once the pair was released, the embarrassed Volodymyr went into reclusion to plot against Anyrax, but the usually dour Maenar laughed it off as a lesson they needed to learn and made amends with Anyrax.
Historians all seem to believe that this event actually happened inside an important Temple of Anyrax only decades after the founding of Etude but long before the Allegran Accords. In other myths it's alluded that Volodymyr also has romantic ties to Aldrek Demo'rai, although their intense differences makes many theologians question the likelihood of such a thing.
