Unknown Author
The inspirational manifesto, that has become known as The Lost Songs of the Bane'ile, has been floating around the little galaxy of Kantostara since sometime after the acquisition wars when the UAG, from the world of Taanruk, took over the interstellar trade routes and solidified their economic domination of the entire galaxy. It seemed to just pop up out of nowhere one day and then it spread through word of mouth like the ancient songs themselves, but no one really knows for sure who created it. At the time, there were some who claimed to be the author, as well as others who attributed the manifesto to various well known people of the day, but over time, all of those claims have been proven false.
Speculation
Given the importance of this manifesto that has inspired so many, and that the identity of the author has never been clearly established, there continues to be plenty of speculation. Some believe that it was authored by some remnant of the Bane'ile people of song who lived their lives in devotion to the spiritual well-being of their people. They were the teachers, healers and spiritual advisors of the Bane'ile who believed in living their lives in balance and harmony in service to all living beings, and they were the ones who were most familiar with the ancient songs. However, though their values closely aligned with those expressed in the manifesto, the culture of the people of song had all but died out by the time it first appeared. Another theory is that the manifesto was authored by a sparrow, since it is also known as The Sparrow's Code of the Flock. The sparrows are an underground network of smugglers and rebels who operate in the shadows, living their lives in defiance of UAG regulations, and they use the manifesto as a guideline for their code of conduct and ethics. The sparrows were just beginning to coalesce into a more organized group after the acquisition wars, so the timing is about right, but still, it seems more like they were influenced by the manifesto rather than the other way around. It has even been suggested that the Arcgelen brothers had a hand in crafting the manifesto since there are some similarities to the Declaration of Sovereignty that they wrote when they moved their starbase, the Crossroads, out of UAG territory during the acquisition wars so it would no longer be a target. Belive it or not, they are actually old enough to have been around back then, however, the tone doesn't seem to match. The "Dec" is straight forward and irreverent, while The Lost Songs of the Bane'ile sounds more serious and inspirational.Legacy
Whoever that unknown author, or authors, was, one thing is certain. Their vision for the future changed the course of history. The Lost Songs of the Bane'ile has become a rallying cry for all those who have been oppressed by the insatiable corporatocracy of Taanruk and its UAG, and the unknown author has painted a picture of a future that they all could aspire to, as well as, providing a map of how to get there.
