She hadn't spoken in three days, not since she arrived at the Crossroads looking somewhat catatonic. Her whole world was gone in the blink of an eye. She still couldn't quite wrap her head around that fact. Maybe it wasn't really a fact. Maybe it was some terrible nightmare that she would simply wake up from any moment now. One word kept repeating over and over again in her mind. Why? Why did this have to happen? Why was everyone gone? Why was she still here? She had watched the horrific scene unfolding on the screen. Two becoming one in agonizing slow motion and bursting into blinding light. Now, the image kept playing over and over in her mind like she was caught in some crazy time out time and couldn't break free, but this was real. Everything and everyone was truly gone. If it weren't for the Arcgelen brothers, she'd have no one left to turn to.
History
Founded by Rafi Arcgelen, the Helping Hand Society has taken care of countless people, like Lu, who show up at the Crossroads in dire straits with nowhere else to turn. The charity connects those in need with a vast network of good samaritans who are always willing and able to provide whatever kind of help is required. They have provided training and jobs for those who could work and loans for those who couldn't. They have given food to those who were hungry, found shelter for those who were lost, and secured passage home for those who were left stranded. They have located long lost loved ones and reconnected them with the ones who had never stopped searching. From small favors to life changing assistance, the Helping Hand Society can always be counted on to provide a safety net in times of need.
Agenda
Rafi's compassionate nature inspired him to create the Helping Hand Society because he believes that we all need a helping hand from time to time and everyone needs to know that they are loved, especially during difficult times when it seems like all is lost, and sometimes it really is.
