The Everchanging - The Storm
Core Alignment: Chaotic Destructive
Domains: Storms, Air, Chaos, Rebellion, Journeys, Change
The Lightning Quartz core of this God was quick to form and get involved in the world, causing messes and chaos within hours of waking from Kalio’s touch. Although they did slow, and learn to smell the roses, the Storm has never settled down for long. During the first age, they began to challenge the Sovereign at every turn, sometimes taking the subtle route and causing riots and inciting revolutions from various smaller cities in the various empires the Sovereign built through their tamed masses, and others playing the terrorist that messed directly with the system.
The Void War gave the Storm focus, allowing them to sow pure chaos across the enemy lines, and causing damage across the darkness….. Indiscriminately. It was at the Mountain Fortress of Glasspeake where the Storm’s immense power went too far. The mortals and followers of the gods were under siege by a tidal surge of monsters and the Void’s magical power. The Storm unleashed incredible power upon the peak and all the enemies it could s... And it shattered the mountain peak in two, destroying all of the Void Creatures insight, but also every single living being on that mountain top. When the other gods arrived, they found the Storm kneeling between the cracked mountain, holding a scorched straw doll, among the bones of thousands of beings in tears
From that day, the Storm began to hand things more carefully, still sowing chaos, but seemingly afraid of damaging the unknown.
When they returned to Iolnois at the end of the War, they laid their heart down at the Shattered Peak, the clouds began to form over the peak, and ever since the Storm passed on, those thunder clouds have never settled. Supposedly each time the Storm is reborn into this world, a strike of red lightning graces the peak, and the mountain’s rare ores of Skymetal are refilled, and new veins are filled as the entire mountain shakes and shifts.
Modern Mantle Holders are still possessed with that incredible power and need for chaos, but they need to learn restraint. Followers of the Storm often are bad news for bigger cities, as they protest the laws and cause problems, but it’s often these rabble rousers that fight against injust laws and against slavery, all the things that steal away the freedom of people to choose for themselves and do what they want. For them, anarchy and expression is freedom, and that is their most important thing.
Core Tenants of the Faith surrounding the Storm
Don’t ever be ok with stagnation. Change is a good thing, whether it’s personal or societal. Old news means old stories, and old stories are often abuse waiting to happen.
Change must be tempered. Think when you act, or great tragedy can be moments away.
Don’t fear letting your changes take their time to mature. Things aren't perfect immediately after you affect change. Let the trees take root and grow before you harvest it for lumber.
