The Sovereign

Builder of Cities and Kings - The Sovereign Core Alignment: Lawful Controlling Domains: Fire, Forge, Order, Ambition, War     Another of the Early risers, the Sovereign’s Godheart formed from a Gem that was jagged and hollow, leaving his chest open to the air, showing how empty his core was. It leads many of the mortals of Kalio to say that the Sovereign had no heart, and cared little for the mortals of Kalio. He leads with clear cut discipline, and from the darkness of Kalio’s mountains he led the Hakir to build grand cities from Iron and Stone and to build weapons of war. Distinct time, building cities and empires, and precision. He showed the world what could happen when you step away from the woods. The Sovereign lead the world into an age where machines and magic sped up the power of the mortals of Kalio far beyond what they should have and were it not for the Void War, it may have been that the Sovereign’s followers would have lead Kalio into war with the Void, traveling on ships that floated on the air like water. However, it was the first Void Invasion that threw man back several of the ages it had jumped, and when Kalio recovered from that first strike, they struck with the fury of Machines they didn’t understand, and with Magic whose knowledge had been burned from the minds of even the oldest scholars, only existing on paper for scrolls. The Sovereign served as the General, leading the charge against the darkness, but it wasn’t enough, and it was a spike deflected from the Sovereign’s shield that pierced Kalio’s chest, and when she fell, the Sovereign refused to leave her side. Even as the other gods grieved, and began to remove their hearts to save Kalio’s body, he was one of the last gods to remove his heart. When he did finally remove his own heart, he placed it near his mother’s wound, his final shame becoming his resting place.is followers turning his tomb into the biggest city of steel in the world, to protect and prevent the Wound from festering. The Sovereign is one of the core gods of Civilization, but he is one of those often assumed to be a god of Evil, uncaring and solely focused on the Empire or the City. As such, many traditions that involve the Sovereign in their practice are very utilitarian and clean of most traditional religious terminology. Often in Peakeworis, where civilization hangs on by a thread in the Chaos, Symbols of the Iron Crown are placed upon the walls to ward off the chaotic energies of the Chance Storms, along with daily prayers to avoid being changed to their whims. In smaller towns and cities, the Crown is usually placed in more subtle places, like the corners of paperwork, or gilded into the frames of homes. However, the worship of the Sovereign is central most in Kandever. Unlike most regions, who only treat the gods whose Hearts hold their lands together as one of Many, the people of Kandever treat the Sovereign as the prime deity other than Kalio, especially since their leader, the Warmaster, wears the Iron Crown gem upon his head as his own symbol of Power.   Core Tenants of the Sovereign’s Faith •Divinity does not matter to a Mortal Soul. You must build and claim your own rights from the ground. Only respect Divinity for the Power it carries, and the knowledge they can muster. Mortality is the true divinity. •A man is worth nothing without a family. A family means little without a community. A community means little without a country. Countries mean little without the World they hold. The World is worth little… if It doesn’t carry a memory. •Laws guide us to certainty. They may be just or cruel, but they make the framework of Society, and they can be changed with time. But they must be adhered to.
