The Pious

Religious Purity - The Pious Core Alignment: Protective Controlling Domains: Life, Creation, Light, Nature   The Pious has always been a curious god, their gem at the core of their being formed with a purple crystal similar to the Amethyst mined from Kalio’s soils. The woman that formed from Kalio’s touch was rather simple and quiet, advocating peace and calm wherever she went in the world. While all of Kalio’s children loved her, it was the Pious that taught them the power of prayer and taught them how to borrow the powers of the divine from the Gods hearts. With devotion came healing, and power, and ways for the normal mortal people of the realms to gain favor from the gods.   During the War, she stayed behind the lines, taking time to use the blessings of life she was granted to bring back the soldiers from death’s edge, and helping the lost find their way back to Kalio’s soils. And when Kalio herself fell the Dark Void, it was the tears of the Pious that stayed the march of the Void, until the gods relinquished their hearts to stabilize the body of their mother.   The Pious has many forms of worship that pay her kindness, but its most common form is through the idea of robes, which often flow like water and tears. The Pious has always been a healer restorer, someone who has cared for everyone, down to the lowest life forms that lived in Kalio, and it was her tears that were the first chance Kalio had at life after the divine mother fell. As such, it is common for many religions, even those that are not focused on the Pious herself, to hold their symbols of faith within her own. She is the shield of faith, and she will hold all others within herself, protecting the right to a faith of all who are willing to give it.   Core Tenants of the Faiths surrounding the Pious: • Faith is the lifeblood of Kalio. It is what sustains her lands, and allows her memories to hold the shape of the world. Faith protects us from the darkness beyond her silent thoughts and memories, and it heals the wounds that sit within her skin. • Love the Kalians to your sides. They are born from the same blood you are. All of Kalio comes from her blood. You may be born with skin, scales, horns, or even have the blood of outsiders. You still belong to her blood, and she will protect you if you protect those you love. • The Gods are what remains of your divine mother. They may be mortal among you, but your faith allows them to protect you. Faith is not respect, nor worship, nor favors given. Faith is Belief, and belief will grant them the power to keep you safe.
