The Freeholds of Ndir

Patron Deity: The Fates Shrine: The Loom’s Pathway General Climate: Ever Changing Oceanic/Islands   Major Factions:   Points of Note: Attempts to map Ndir is generally a futile challenge, there are a few items that regularly show up among these shifting islands. There is a tower known as the Old Loom, although the island has been abandoned for years besides the Vaulters that maintain the Loom. There is also Vestil, the only truly stable island in existence in Ndir. Some people say that it’s the only stable island, because of it being the birthplace of the first Fates, but there’s been little evidence to suggest that this theory is true.

Demography and Population

Ndir being a majority of Islands, and Inconsistently located Islands at that, doesn't attract much of a Stable Population. The Major species and ethnicities of note are of course the Nautl, who have a sizable city beneath the Wandering Oceans, called Hosara, and the Azura, the Vaulters that live on the chaotic Island holding the Old Loom.    The rest of the islands are populated by the Pirates and sailors of the Freeholds, who are varied, diverse, and frankly the scum and villany of many other nations, for various reasons.

Territories

Officially N'dir begins about 400 nautical miles off the coast of Fevas, and its waters stretch in any direction from Vestil about 200 Nautical miles. While counts are inconsistent, officials estimate there are a total of 35 islands that make up N'Dir, and these Islands exist ina  state of constant flux, not just with our world, but others around us, which allows for the j

Foreign Relations

N'Dir is considered a Pirate stronghold by most of the civilized people in the surrounding nations, which is fair, considering the Court operates with Impunity in N'Dir, and the surrounding waters.    As such, there isn't a lot of respect for those coming from N'Dir, at least publicly.

Legislative Body
The Crossbone Court, a conglomeration of the Captains that owe fealty to the King of Bones, meet once every two years, to go over the Code. It is during this often 3 week long process that new laws are made, old laws can be repealed, and grievances are brought before the King of Bones, if the Code can't settle it first.
Judicial Body
The King of Bones is the highest Authority for settling any "judicial" matter. Below him, are the various captains of the Circle of Proven, marked by those allowed to carry flags marked with Crossed bones. These captains are allowed to settle disputes between other Captains of the Freeholds, and must agree at least 2 of the 3 captains assigned to a dispute, otherwise, the dispute is considered forgotten, and to be left behind. Disputes between the Circle, are always decided on, by the King's actions.    Besides that, colonies and ships are largely Autonomous, and follow the rules and judgement of their own captains.
