In Her Majesty's Secret Service, SR

General Summary

After much planning, the party started in a small village outside of Gotha with creating traps all along the eastern perimeter. Then they got barrels of ale (paid for by Grayson) and added a drug (Acquired by Grayson) make them put to sleep all the people who drank it.   They set up shop in the village and bought the Inn (with Graysons money), stocked it with the ale, and prepared for a party.   When the men transporting the prisoner arrived, the leader of the men let them blow off steam at the Inn.   The plan was working - now they needed to find out who had the key.   Instead of doing something clever, the master thief Galvin tried to pickpocket the leader in front of everyone, getting his arm broken and getting himself thrown in the carriage with the prisoner.   While exposing who had the key, they lost the member needed to pickpocket the key.   Thinking quickly, Hyde challenged the man to a drinking contest and sent a look to Timothy who replaced Hyde's ale with the un-poisoned kind.   Timothy, a severe gambling addict, couldn't pass up the opportunity and started accepting bets on who would win at 6-1 odds.   After a close match, Hyde won the contest and the Captain of the Guard passed out drunk making Timothy rich and giving them an opening for the key.   Hyde went in the back to sleep off the ale while Timothy found the key on the Captain.   Trell took several mugs of ale out to the guards by the carriage and convinced them to lighten up and have a drink.   Several hours pass as the majority of the soldiers get drunk...   The next morning, Hyde awakes with a slight headache and the team spring into action: Timothy keeps watch on the drunk guards, Trell gets the horses, and Hyde goes to rescue Galvin and the prisoner.    After donning a mask, sneaking passed the guards, and opening the door, Hyde releases Galvin and the prisoner. When Hyde takes the mask off, it is revealed to be Prince William - he had taken the prisoners place at some point in the night while Galvin was sleeping!   With a sword to Hyde's throat, William laughs and reveals the prisoner to be none other than Garrett de Bans, his former second in command at Bartlow and the Queen's brother. "Didn't you think I'd know someone would want the secrets in Garretts head? Give it up, Highwaymen - soon I'll be ruler of this land and you... well... you'll be dead."   Timothy realized it had been too long back at the Inn. Going looking for the group, he sees the drama play out in front of him and creates a distraction: "Long Live King George!" he yells as he breaks a mug on the ground.   This gives Hyde the edge he needs to leap back, pull his sword, and engage Prince William. Hyde is completely outmatched and begins losing almost immediately. Just then, Trell enters with the horses and gives them to Timothy as he charges for William and Hyde. Garrett, on the other hand, is thrown into the carriage as the man with William attempts to get him to Lond.   Galvin and Timothy are quickly in hot pursuit with the horses as Trell dismounts and aids a failing Hyde. "Go after the prisoner!" he yells to Hyde. He then engages William with a mighty roar "For King George!"   Hyde quickly mounted up and chased down the carriage with Garrett inside. Galvin reached the carriage first, and used his shot trying to hit the driver. He missed, but gave Hyde enough an opening to get close enough to shoot the lock and free Garrett.   Garrett climbed to the roof of the carriage and, with Hyde throwing him his sword, engaged the rider in combat.   Trell and William fought through the grassy outskirts to the muddy town and Trell could feel the Prince's rigorous training - he was outmatched, but holding his own enough to land a few good blows, even cutting off the king-to-be's ear!   Eventually, Garrett leapt from the carriage and a loosing duel. The driver returned to regain control of the horses and in doing so left himself open for Galvin to jump aboard and knock him off.   Meanwhile, Trell and William dueled through the village as the troops began to wake, eventually coming to a barn rigged with a trap. Trell tripped the trap on William enabling Trell to meet up with the others and slip away.   The traps slowed the pursuers enough for the group to put distance between them. Then Hyde stopped the party, took the gold and took off his mask to make an attempt to win a place by William's side as a spy for Queen Ellen.
