Story Concept: Making of a Legend
(takes place in the Republic of Kexist)
Fia had been hired to be the sole bodyguard for a client while they traveled through a grassland bordering a forest (better to travel in the grass in case of trouble). The client, a kakeh Drake, did not allow for Fia to see the contents of the wagon and left the destination location undisclosed, them knowing the way. They are attacked during the night, while Fia was on guard. Fia throws her returning knives, with quite the throwing arm, into the grass and deters the bandits. Later the following day, they come to a troll Troll bridge (one rogoldrok and many Goblin). Fia strong arms the troll so they get through without paying. They arrive to the destination, a random house in the middle of the forest with no roads leading to it. Fia lets the client enter the clay-gated courtyard in a peculiarly placed mansion (looks like the mansion is taken from another place, nothing around for miles, even the road is a mile away). With her assignment done, she goes to return to town.
Fia’s blinded and yanked away. She fights in the darkness, seeing the aura of her assailant. She couldn't stop them from bringing them somewhere, her sight returning to see the side of the mansion's clay wall. Sight still foggy from shadows and a mist, Fia recognizes the same time she notices the voice, her sister. Fia’s sister interrogates her (obviously on a mission with her company she apparently can't even tell her family about). Fia’s sister has white hair and is blind, always jealous of Fia's two forms of sight. She can make others blind with a white mist. Fia is angry that her sister doesn’t believe she’s just on a bodyguarding mission. Someone grabs the sister's attention, telling them they must move now.

Author’s note: (The true story that is never covered (but as the author is good to know): The client was carrying an explosive, contraband. In the building, the spec ops mission, they secure most of it except for the kingpin and the client who are meeting in the room. They raid the room, the sister blinding the two. They were in the midst of passing a sample, and it is dropped. A chain reaction occurs where the entire building vanishes)
The ground shook with a singular, massive thump. She debates on looking back, knowing she has no place in large events, nor the means to deal with them. Still curious, she looks back to see smoke behind her. She has a moment of worry before deciding her sister did tell her to go, so she'll return to the village. She goes to her home and sleeps.
(for story purposes, include major building blocking daylight) The next day, she bids her roommates, two Vinsel & a Tsohtsi, farewell as she leaves to take the day off. During her walk, she’s arrested. She’s taken in a vehicle with no windows, interrogated by someone. She’s gruff and answers with questions of her own. They continue with vague questions about where she was the previous day, about any shady figures, about her sister (this has her perk up with worry). The vehicle stops and they get out to a clearing, a massive divot in the ground like the earth had been scooped by a giant spoon.
Fia comes to recognize the place. She asks, with elevated anger and worry what had happened. People are investigating with devices Fia doesn’t know what to do. A small hyum comes up to her. Fia demands to know what happened to her sister. She doesn’t know, this was the place she’d last had contact. Sinking feeling. He notes that Fia had seemed to recognize the place. He has her enter the border of the crater and has a machine hooked up to her hand, heart, and head. No one explains what it does, but Fia has her likely-accurate theories.
She starts to break down, realization finally breaking through. They tell her that they don’t know what happened and that it’s their aim to find out. She has no more fight and goes back into the truck.
She’s taken to a courthouse and is put in a cell. She assumes she’s the primary suspect. Lots of interviews go on and she does not allow for them to mind read, always rejecting the offer. She knows she’s innocent. It’s always with the Hyum around that she’s interviewed.
One day, she snaps, saying that if they want to convict her, they can. Her sister is dead anyways, she has no one. The hyum looks at her strangely, saying that he’s her lawyer. She demands to know more. He says she’s kept her for her own protection, that this is a suit against the (head of company here). She’s the key part to show they’re trading in illegal and highly dangerous substances, not to mention the… other crimes. She knows her sister is dead now.
A month of living in the same building later, she’s brought to court after having disfiguring clothing put on her (to hide her identity). She is under the room’s enchantment that causes her to tell the truth. Notes the man in suave attire frowning. She feels like she wants to go at his throat then and there. She answers all questions and is shown back to her cell.
A month later, she’s let out with a prick in her arm that causes her body to be in the form of someone else and is given an alias. Lives for a while in a new apartment. Is attacked at night by two. Defends herself, accidentally killing one that had her pinned. Runs away. Apprehended again shortly after. She’s cleared of murder as it was in self-defense (they have surveillance just in case). She’s angry with them for knowing to put surveillance but not a bodyguard or something. The ‘mob’ was after her now.
She’s moved far away, to a village far to the east, to (what no one should nor could say) Viuhrt. No longer able to be a bodyguard, she decides to protect in knowledge, as her sister did. If she had known about all this, she could have possibly saved her sister. So she gains contacts, learns about Viurht’s underground (though never participating). There, months later, she sees on the TV that (boss) had been acquitted of all the serious crimes and would be returning to his position as chairman. She’s enraged, throwing her fist into the black pyramid, shattering it in blood, and pained in sorrow. This wasn’t what her sister deserved, he would die for what he did. She decides to head back and see it through.
She uses her contacts to gain knowledge of the location they were (Their office on the top story of a building). She enters his office just as he’s about to head home, subduing the guards. Trading in knowledge, she breaks in and comes face to face with him. He’s scared, calling for guards. She asks if he remembers her, he doesn’t. Her sister, or any of his victims. He never killed anyone. She cuts his throat and leaves. This did not replace the part of her gouged away.
The rest of her days, she spends in hiding. She removed the prick that disfigured her, learned how it’s made through sources and the world-network (internet), and made her own. She now travels, trying to learn as much as she can, being a broker in knowledge. The tale of the all-seeing witch, which she happily adopted, was never made in connection to the death of (boss). The death of (boss), the head of one of the world’s largest companies, quickly spiraled to where the shady deals were uncovered, causing ripples in all parts the business touched and creating turmoil in several nation’s markets. It was never uncovered how the boss had died, some suspected some workers became fed up. No one would ever know of Fia again, her deeds falling to legend.
