One place in the steps is infertile but to one kind of grass [Shal Weed]. The grass covers the flat steppes, growing yellow as most leaves do throughout the year. However, come the coldest days of the year, the “dead” season , these plants decide to come to life. They bloom dozens of long white flowers pers stem.
The land is dry, [which is] why most things can’t grow. Even during the cold seasons, there isn’t any snow. But these flowers make the land look like a white fluffy blanket of snow.
This grass is so tenacious, it will grow on stone, dirt, roofs, & streets. So, the few towns out this way have long since given up on removing them, wading through the thousands of flowers as they move throughout their town.
