My initial inspiration was actually the reformed doctrine of the total depravity of man in the fall of Adam, our first covenant head, the reality of the curse upon all creation, and the necessity of Christ as the second Adam to redeem us and all things from the curse and the penalty for our sin before the just and holy God. Another inspiration is that of having a story with just one character and letting them tell the story from their perspective, though that may not be possible, we'll try. (Lord knows) The basic setup is an entire planet, all connected to the best of DHaKya, Hi-Däng. Hi-Däng became enslaved to a black liquid known as Kakelel (for which the planet has been renamed). Because Dänge-Hi became enslaved to Kakelel, so too did all become enslaved to Kakelel. Once per generation, one of the sons of Kakelel must take the Throne of Dänge-Hi, which resides in the Zigurath of Kakelel to rule Kakelel. But there is hope. King Mo Bufulpig, the creator of Da Kya, has promised the True End of Kakkellel for Kakkellel. He has given the Helm of Mo Misosach, in order to reveal the presence of Kakkellel. He has given the Helm in order to restain the spread of Kakkellel. Once per generation, one is freed from the control of Kakkellel, in order to take the Helm, and restrain Kakkellel's spread, else Kakkellel should consume Kakkellel. "The helm is received, a foe to restrain, the cursed to reveal, The True End to make plain. Once per generation, one shall be freed, to take up the helm, the people to lead. So that all may see him and from him may know the cause for our plight, and the Curse here below. Its purpose is done, and the Curse is completed, when on Dänge-Hi's throne the True End is seated." The Prophecy of Mo Misosach. In terms of my visual inspiration, it actually came from a thought of what one would see if mars orbited a red star. What would one see? A red world around a red star? Red and black. Red and black. Even the light for them is tinted red, and they cannot even see true light without recoiling in terror.
