The Brined Lantern
Inception
Following Azin's Collision the aquatic communities surrounding Bolvaria suffered from extreme earthquakes and a dramatic increase in tidal current strength. This tragic incident did irreparable damage to the surrounding communities and left millions of fatalities in its wake. During the incident with the sea level rising rapidly the natural light that would be used by the inhabitants faded leaving any attempt and rescue in the dark. In response Lumenwrights makers across the sea bed worked tirelessly to create enough lanterns to relight the destroyed communities and allow responders to save people and and infostructure that would have other wise been lost. Following the event survivors of the event honored the responders and the Lumenwrights by creating The Brined Lantern Foundation in their honor. A foundation with the sole purpose of assisting the communities affected by natural disasters.
Current Identity
The Brined Lantern Foundation remains a fixture in most aquatic communities surrounding Bolvaria and continues to provide aid to communities struggling with the adjustments brought on by Azin's Collision as well as other natural disasters since. They are viewed favorably by most of the common populace and have had no major opponents since it's inception. It does receive regular donations from the Lumenwrights Guild and has had several statues, plaques and other honors bestowed upon them. The most notable of these honors is a large statue construction near the Sunken Valley the site that received the worst damage from Azin's Collision.
