Ortbran

Myth

It is said when a mortal transitions to the role of deity they are met with a table sitting on a warm beach looking out at the sunset. Resting on the table is nothing but a simple plate with a rustic loaf of bread with a thick crust. Some say depending on the being other items may rest on the table, a vase with fresh flowers, a fine table cloth, or even a jar of jam to go with the bread. No matter the being the loaf of bread is always present and it is unclear if the name Ortbran is to describe the bread or act of consuming, but what is certain is that after consuming the rustic loaf the being takes on the role of deity for Kakaar. Some speculate the the entire event is a test to determine what kind of deity the being is, others say it is meant to be a moment of peace prior the being taking on the tasks that lay before them.

Origin

It is unclear where the Legend of the Ortbran originated from or if it came from the word of Gods or mortals. It is certain that in no historically accepted or proven tests has a god acknowledged the existence of the Ortban. Despite the lack of evidence or reliability in source most organizations accept the Ortbran as fact, all be it with minor twists and changes based on there own beliefs. It could be said that while much of the process of ascending to a deity is disputed the final act of transitioning is of little question among mortals.
