22.03.2025 - Scribe-5 - Our saviour
General Summary
(Asgeir and Maris are not here today)
- Thargnak and Bucket decide to leave the poor statues alone, and instead start hitting the door
- Bucker casts stoneskin on himself, and asks Thargnak to throw him like a cannonball. However, he doesn't have enough diamond dust
- Thargnak walks over and tries to sacrifice his Second Wind. He does this by visualizing throwing a javelin at the organ
- Scribes is able to play the organ, and we see something streaming out of the organ, and along the cables
- She has now played two pages out of 8
- Void notices that the door has shifted slightly
- Sylword sacrifices a third level spell slot
- Coty sacrifices one 2nd level spell slot
- Bucket sacrifices a second level spell slot, by Blessing the organ
- There's a big crack in the organ at the amount of magic it now holds
- As Scribes plays, she feels power enter her body, as she start shimmering
- She enters a trance
- Her usually blue lighted eyes are now a dark purple
- The same dark purple and red smoke seeps out of the organ pipes
- It pulses like a large beating heart
- The statues that are connected to it quiet their screaming (The one Bucket is holding does not)
- The exit Void is standing on is now shaking along with the music
- The metal of the exit is becoming a mirror, letting Void see his reflection, which has a crack down it's face
- The part of him across from the crack doesn't follow his movement, like a normal reflection does
- His reflection keeps cracking into more and more parts, becoming more and more distorted
- It looks heroic, like a stereotypical knight in shining armor, saving the day. With rage on his face
- As Scribes reaches the climax of the song, something wrences free of the statues, and float towards us
- null
- They bee-line towards Sylword, we roll initiative
- Coty crawls under the organ, and casts Mimir's Ice Spikes
- Sylword becomes incapacitated, becoming a part of the woven carpet
- Bucket pulls one of them towards him with his whip-sword, and gashes it
- It's face is made of parchment and canvas
- Scribes uses a Witch Bolt modified to be fire damage, which seems to do more damage
- We notice that the parchment thing seems to feed off our presence
- Thargnak gets hurt
- As Void hits one of the creatures, he notices that some of the power in the organ seems to leak out of it
- Thargnak pushes the Curitorial Horror away with an attack. It seems to lose power from being away from the organ
- Sylword finally emerges from the carpet
- Scribes ends up dealing the final blow to both of them in the same turn
- The patterns of the carpets subtly changes to show E (Empusia's face, before it vanishes again (Void has non-detection)
- As things calm down, Void tells us about the door-mirror
- We go to look
- Scribes is standing on the door, as it falls away. Dropping her 20 ft.
- She enters an icy, mirrory mace
- Her reflection is scattered across the walls
- Bucket talks to his ring for 10 mins, to summon Bastian. Who flies the others down safely (except for Thargnak, who jumps without waiting)
- Our reflections doesn't seem to always follow our movement
- The whispers are still following us
- We decide to try to follow the right walls
- Bucket smashes a mirror on the right. There is just emptiness in the cracks
- To his right is a reflection with the leaf engravings looking sickly. He has a smirk drawn on the helmet
- As we follow the right wall, we find a book stuck in the ice
- We stack Prestidigitations to warm the ice, and Void uses his Pact Pickaxe
- After about 30 min, we manage to free the book
- It's written in Elvish
- The title is "The Holy Book of our Saviour"
- It only mentions them by The Saviour, and not by any other name
- It has scribbles and additions written in it, and appears pretty home-made
- At some point as we walk, other reflections appear in the mirror
- A group of travellers (4-5), looking like elves in travelling clothes
- They approach Void. "Sir, have you seen our saviour?"
- When he doesn't know about their saviour, they try to sit us down in prayer
- He declines, but shows them the book, and tries to hand it over
- Bucket stops him
- Scribes recognizes one of the stories mentioning the Saviour defeating a devil in The Pit (which is guarded by elves)
- This is most likely a fanatical group from the woods east of the Narrow Sea
- The fanatics seems to believe in some powerful celestial
- They don't know the way out of the maze, but are willing to help us (by discussing the Saviour)
- Void gives them the book, and tells them to alert us if they find the way out
- They reach out of the wall to yank the book out of his hand
- "We can finally free our saviour! Now we can finally get rid of the stupid girl! Our salvation is at hand"
Plan
REMEMBER: Void has Nondetection for 8 hours
Look for clues about Void's sister
Save the last dwarf that we accidentially sent to Hell (Bucket's honor depends on it)
---------------------------------
Sylword can cast Locate Object on the knife that was left on the other side of the Lorladon portal.
Scribes needs to read up on what pranks are, and think of one to prank Sylword and Bucket back. Since they told her to.
Learn the new spells: Aquired but unlearned spells
Scribes needs to talk to Coty about what happened with Lorladon (Coty wants to assemble her voodoo dolls first)
We should turn Custodian Auren over to the Path of Hill, claiming that we held him while we investigated his crime of impersonating the Emperor
