18.04.2021 - Thunder - Calm after the storm

General Summary

The others had another downtime session that I couldn't attend.

Foundry is down, so we're doing this as theater of the mind

We would have split the (retconned) amount of money that T found: 800 gp to each and 2000 gp to Sylword. (More to Sylword so that he could buy components for support spells)

Last time:

  • Arnini has become an apprentice to a 600 y/o master enchanter
  • Has signed a contract with a blood pack. Assumes his soul is given to the master
  • C came with, and is pretending to be A's dog called Barky(?)
  • T would have noticed that there were small artic animals nestled up to C when she was sleeping
  • There was a girl in the entrance throwing stones out of our sleeping quarter, and an elf in the corner
  • The party went shopping and tried to find Glannon to warn him about the elf we set free
  • We found him as they were speaking to each other, and arguing about what was best for their people and who should be the leader
  • There are now two factions in the awarth
  • the younger ones favour Malagnim, while the older and richer ones favour Glannon
  • There will be a Convergence of paths (?) where they will choose their leader. This will happen in a week
  • S went shopping up in the city
  • He wanted to buy a really expensive mirror, and managed to haggle a good price by intimidating the shopkeeper
  • We all share an alcove/room in the Awarth city
  • A has acquired a rudimentary map
  • There are a lot of newcomers here, and flashy magic is being used freely

We continue:

  • While A and C went to find the master enchanter, T, Void and Cloud went to find someone who knows identify to look at items.
  • A has just finished 'signing' the contract, and a small mark is left on his wrist
  • A asks what the bond entails
  • The master needs an apprentice and A is in search of knowledge
  • The walls and ceiling are translucent crystals
  • To finalize the contract A will have to do something for the master
  • The master needs an apprentice, so he might make it a bit easy on A
  • A will have to fetch a Bullseye fungi
  • "Be mindful of not picking the flecked deathcaps"
  • The bullseye fungi has at least a circle and a dot. They are red and brown, small (though may vary a bit in size)
  • The deathcaps only have dots, a bit of a green tint mixed in with their red
  • He wants the stalks
  • Can be found in damp places many places in the Awarth place
  • Maybe someone sells them, or maybe he can look for an underground stream
  • They leave
  • T, Void and cloud walk up to a young female elf, hoping she knows Identify
  • The elf is wearing clothes she has designed herself and a hat that is actually an illusion.
  • She is called Findelye Nallithe
  • She doesn't have the necessary materials, so T gives her 100 gp to buy the necessary pearl
  • We go with her to buy the pearl from a person she knows called Adrid (?)
  • We lead her back to our alcove
  • We start identifying
  • T spends the time theorizing about the lore of the items with Cloud
  • Void spends the time casually reading the evil(?) magic tome we got from the tower
  • As he starts reading the face on the book opens its eyes, and he hears a muted whisper he can't understand
  • He can't understand what is written in the book
  • T's leather armour:
  • The armour has long hairs and covers the shoulders, chest and hips. There are runes etched along some of the seams.
  • T estimates that it is well used. No others parts than the seams have runes. It might have been used for a human lifetime, maybe by a mercenary or a guard etc. By someone who has been in a lot of fights.
  • The elf reveals that the armour is made out of worg hide. It is very though and gives the wearer extended senses of a worg. (While wearing the armour T gets advantage on wisdom (perception) checks that rely on hearing and smell)
  • V's rings: (Rolls a nat 20 to convince her he just found the rings)
  • null
  • Ornate dark iron ring, with engraved goblets and dining utensils
  • Allows him to gain some vitality and health for every bite of food. Also makes him hungry all the time. He needs to eat every 12 hours or more. if not he becomes feral and will stop at nothing to get food
  • Shiny golden ring, with engraved coins and gemstones
  • Makes him obsessed with gold. For every 5000 gold he has, he will deal more damage. Won't part with anything valuable, and will refuse to spend it.
  • Platinum ring, with "Success" written on it in different languages
  • Can use his action to initiate a magical duel. Only him and the one he is duelling can interact with each other, and no one else can interfere. It only ends if one of them dies or falls unconscious.
  • Plan: have Void declare a duel with someone in the party, and they can now walk unharmed through an army of people
  • Rusty and dull ring
  • Takes advantage of his jealousy. For every power of his opponent that is above Void's power, V deals more dmg. And the opposite
  • Polished bronze ring
  • Whenever he takes a long rest he gets 15 temp hp. His speed is reduced by 10 ft.
  • Metallic pink, engraved with the symbols of the genders interlocked
  • Whenever he makes a charisma check against the gender he's attracted to, he gets +5. Gets -5 to the gender he is not attracted to. If he's attracted to both the ring has no effect.
  • Red tinted steel engraved with swords
  • Can use his action to deal physic dmg to all combatants, including allies.
  • She asks if he is familiar with the seven deadly sins. "it might not be wise to have all of these on at the same time"
  • Can't take them off before the curses are removed
  • Don't have to attune because they are cursed
  • Cloud spends the time telling T what she has been up to
  • She met a fairy that granted her wishes
  • She had a dog for a while with one golden eye, called Boy
  • Her tales feels like Cloud is leaving some parts out and making some parts up
  • She was part of a circus. many of her tales centre around characters from this circus
  • T's magical dagger
  • Has to roll a wis save to give it to her
  • Can do extra damage with it, but a bit of that damage also hurts the wielder. Does 2d6 extra frost dmg, but hurts the wielder 1d4 frost dmg.
  • Is also some divine tether to this dagger. Gives some divine connection through it. Gives a connection to Auril, the frost maiden.
  • T's brass cat statue
  • Seems that the Cat Lord has given T a gift
  • What it does is random(?). Might not always be useful. He can keep tabs on T with the possibility of scrying thorugh the eyes.
  • Might have to let it see something interesting. Maybe T has to tell it stories. Maybe something will happen once T learns something new.
  • Something new happens every dawn (Niels might change it to happen in random intervalls). Think the wild magic table, only simplified and neither good nor bad.
  • T's child-sized bone hand
  • T lies that she kept it to find out how to destroy it
  • It is not magical, but has lettering in a weird language on it.
  • Runes under the finger bones
  •  T's Goddess' jewels (from Voice) (Headpiece)
  • You can spend an action to calm the emotions of people around you. Requires attunement. The stronger the magic you put into it, the bigger the effect. Can use it for non-magic users, but the effect is limited. Command word is "For the lady".
  • As she says the command word, the music box starts playing
  • T's music box
  • T informs her that the box starts playing when praying to the goddess, and when it reacts to the blue/white smoke from the chemicals
  • The figurine in it is an incredibly detailed girl dancing
  • If you say the command word, "Lady", it will start playing. It will stop playing when saying "With the lady's blessing".
  • Doesn't seem to have other magical properties
  • As it plays, she manipulates the box and manages to open a small storage with space for a trinket. Only opens when the music is playing. Seems to be some sort of peacefulness emanating from it.  The compartment is bigger than you would expect.
  • Would fetch a good price if sold
  • The figurine looks like a child version of the Lady
  • T's small bone club
  • Seems like a bone from a large animal
  • If you crit, it will generate a useful magic item in a space within 5 ft. Only works in fights. Might not be useful right then and there, but the item will not go away.
  • T's fancy instruments
  • One of the tools will double your proficiency in alchemy tools when using it. (Only if you are proficient in alchemy tools)
  • T's Book of failures
  • A collection of stories, once you read them, they tell stories etched into your mind. You can't get rid of them unless you use a strong restoration spell.
  • Remember to read T and Clouds story, to perhaps remember what happened.
  • Doesn't feel like a deliberate enchantment, but more emotional primal magic. Someone has poured a lot of time and emotions into this book, and it eventually became magical.
  • Someone really did not want to forget.
  • T's cigar box
  • (Cigar box from tower: Is also a small wooden box with a couple of cigars inside. ornate scrollwork on the box)
  • The scrollwork is painted on, and is flaking off
  • Looks pretty common looking
  • You can place a spell scroll inside it, and it will be converted into a cigar. Anyone can use an action to smoke the cigar, and cast the spell with no somatic or verbal components. They don't need to be spellcasters. The smoker can choose to cast the spell at 1d2 higher level, but doing so will give the user exhaustion levels according to the level the spell is cast at.
  • This will synergize well with Scribe-5
  • The two cigars already in the box:
  • Absorb elements. Take less pain/harm from the elements.
  • Charm person.
  • T's magical ammunition (arrows)
  • They do extra 1d6 acid damage. Smells and looks like blueberries where it lands.
  • Useful!
  • V's evil book (We almost forgot this obviously magical book lol)
  • Nvm, Void's weird voice in his head recommends not doing it.
  • Findelye tells us to come to her if we need leather crafted etc.
  • A and C is looking for the fungi
  • He finds what he is looking for, and uses his t-rex mage hand to pick the mushrooms without touching them, and puts them in a glass jar
  • He then goes to buy stuff he needs, and stuff S has asked him to buy
  • For good measure, the shopkeeper throws in the meat from the boars
  • has to go several trips, and fills his bag of holding to carry the 300 kg of fat
  • They return to the master to give him the mushrooms
  • He stuffs the mushrooms in two pipes and gives one to A
  • The master spends some time teaching A how to identify magic. A learns Identify by the end of the week (but might not be time, since A has to spend time create a bag of holding for S)
  • T researches how to get Cloud's abilities - Hugo Sha has an enourmous library in the academy, but few get access to all of it.
  • Starts the research by asking around the Awarth
  • Finds a bookseller that has been hiding books, so that they wouldn't be taken by the monks (?). Has recently started selling them. Called Golineth.
  • Bald, black eyes, glasses, smooth blue-ish skin, tall and lanky, fidgety and nervous
  • Treats his books as his children, and parts with them reluctantly
  • Void investigates the evil book

Plan: Investigate how to get Clouds powers back

Write the magic items on the character sheet once Foundry is up.

Give magic items T can't use to
