16.05.2020 - Shui Mythri
General Summary
- Starting in the underground temple, which has a secret entrance into the city.
- The temple is larger than we have explored, despite the fact that we've been living here for 20 years
- Living in living quarters, that we're used for something else before us. Smooth walls, impossible to carve into. Ancient and newer holy symbols painted on
- Haven't met anyone that treats us as an equal, as our teachers rever us.
- We've gone through a ritual when we were first found, and brought to the temple. It was to decide whether we were actually agents of Mystra or not.
- The cult has now deemed the time right, as they have interpreted the signs. And out quest to bring magic back to Yin must start
- We have a stratergy meeting in our room
- Servant has just given us food and supplies
- Potential plans:
- Inflitrate, get allies and more information
- We'd need to investigate who it would be good to get support from
- Influence the children and the pure
- Investigate the God emperor
- Fu - try out as guard
- Cover:
- Hai - ?

- Shui - Tutor?
- Cover: Scholar from known academy
- Problems
- Hiding aasimar heritage
- Siblings from out of town, looking for employment
- From Suto (town), house burned down. Travelled to the capital to seek employment, and to start our lives anew.
- Plan:
- Get a small place for us to stay
- Get jobs, preferably in the castle
- We head out into the city. Shui sends Ari (Sparrow) to listen for jobs or oppurtunities
- The last challenge is to open the door
- We place our hands on it, and symbols/patterns light up, when complete the door vanishes, opening into a storage room
- The door reappears behind us, looking like the wall
- Stairs leads up to a trapdoor
- Hai goes up the stairs to look through it
- The steps loudly creak, one of the steps breaks, and he falls
- Shui uses prestidigitation to hide their tracks
- The trapdoor is locked from the inside, with a bar
- Goes into a basement, with another staircase, leading to a door
- Debris in next room (?), windows looking into the city (orderly houses, stone paved roads, lively market)
- The other houses seem to be in disrepair as well, but the roads are clean
- Hear birds upstairs, but no people
- Japanese style houses made of stone, further into the city, they're made of wood
- Exit into an alley
- Humid weather, about to rain
- We are currently to the west of the Cat House, still within the walls
- Large tower w/ stone(?) disk w/ spiral symbol on it
- Guards walking in pairs or in trios along the main road
- Monk/priests walking in black and white clothes
- blackclothed ones seem more revered, solem and deliberate
- Wearing symbol of the spiral on them
- A tabaxi boy tries to steal from Shui, she grabs his hand
- When she lets him og, he kicks her shin, and runs away with other children (mostly tabaxi). All of them in tattered clothing
- Fu approaches the guards
- Says he is a warrior and is looking for work, perhaps with the guards
- They say he can either report to the southwest gatehouse barracks, or the tower barracks by the market
- Fu warns them to "be careful of small tabaxi. They kick."
- Fu doesn't know what The Path is…
- Hai and Shui goes to look for residence
- Right before the market, there is an inn with a 'sleeping giant'-sign
- Considering making the place we appeared in liveable
- A figure drops from the air, and lands behind us
- It is a human teenager, alive, fallen from the highest window of the 4 story inn
- Unable to move, in pain
- A figure seems to be looking down from the window, then quickly disappearing.
- A female half-orc rushes to him and begs someone to help her son
- A white robed person asks for help to carry him on a stretcher to the academy
- We go to help
- We get to the academy (in the red square area on the map)
- We enter a courtyard with a large building at the end
- Get into the infirmary, goes into
- Monk says that they don't know if he can be saved, goes to get supplies
- Mother is distraught
- Shui tries to distract her away, but is not successful
- Hai tries to get the mother to accept his help via his 'innate healing abilities, that he's never used'
- She is conflicted as it would save him, but stray him from the path
- The monks enter the room before she accepts
- He starts an operation
- Gets more and more frustrated
- Calls it impossible, but calms himself and reminds himself to follow the path
- Tells the mother that there is nothing more to do that linder his pain, and let him pass peacefully
- He administers it, and respectfully bows out of the room
- The mother doesn't even look at Hai, but says "Do it"
- He heals the boy (Not completely human, some orc features)
- Mother says "We strayed from the path, but now we head towards it again"
- Says this probably happened because he is hot headed
- She asks if there is anything she can do for us
- Her son is a student, she can ask the Dean if there are any open jobs for us. (Will mention us as family friends)
- Recommends the Golden Hawk Inn for a few nights
- Asks us to come here tomorrow morning(?) and hopefully the Dean will have time to talk to us
- Her name is Temoti
- The Dean's name is Dormin Halfwit
- Fu heads to the tower
- He buys a pie when a hawker tries to sell it to him.
- In the market there is a blackclad monk standing on a stool, preaching about the path to the people
- The door into the tower has a puzzle on it.
- Guard says it "Opens for those worthy"
- This is The tower of forgiveness
- They have some available positions, directed to talk to the quartermaster in the back of the gatehouse
- Fu asks about recent troubles
- Normal trouble about wild magic users (monks mostly deals with that)
- Was f.eks. an incident close to the shadow well
- Then they deal with thieves etc.
- Fu tries to get us all jobs in the guard
- Says we're out finding a place to stay now
- Quartermaster says we can go through a trial
- Fu says he doesn't know what the path is. "Can't stray from something you haven't found yet"
- Quartermaster will assign him a tutor. We must follow the path if we're to work there
- Most likely a combat test (and maybe a scholarly test for Fu) before we can join
- Can enlist us on a trial basis for a week. Can take the test at any time
- Fu will do the test now
- Prefers his wooden quarterstaff, will have to at least have to wear the proper attire
- Within 7 days, he will have to give the location of his home and a witness to the contract
- Signs the contract (Standard working contract)
- His captain would be Captain Dashawn, he will meet him outside in the yard
- Fu gives the quartermaster the pie
