11.10.2025 - Scribe-5 - Malagnim's Symphony

• The fight continues
• Sylword notices that the carvings in Pot's forehead seem to be recent
• Malagnim Filifar's violin music exuded emotion, overriding the metitative ambiance of the runes in the room
• Erin tries to pluse a Silence spell into the bodies of Scribes and Bucket, to make the vibrations stop quicker
• Tiny sources of light appear around them, and in other places in the room. They disappear when the spell ends
• Malagnim very dramatically draws his sword and stabs Coty three times (critting on one of them)
• The guard of the sword shimmers, he seems disgusted by the fact it's only the hilt
• Coty easily keeps her concentration
• She turns into a Giant Eagle and attacks the violin, breaking it!
• The two diviners with dark eyes don't react to the fight anymore
• Malagnim walks towards Pot, slashing Erin, Coty and Bucket in the process
• Coty is downed
• Sylword fails his attempted grapple
• A calming wave emminates from the walls
• Scribes Ice Knife's two diviner's, Pot, Malagnim and his already ruined violin
• Bucket strikes Malagnim, critting!
• Malagnim strikes Pot three times
• Only one attack hits, but she seems quite injured (bloodied)
• Coty drops Silence
• A deep resonance comes from Malagnim, resonating with anyone within 5ft
• Coty attacks the drum attached to his belt, a diviner intervenes
• The diviner then attacks Coty and uses his portent to make it hit
• Malagnim creates a mirror of trenslucent songsteel facing Coty
• She is confronted by her greatest failure; Not being able to find her missing brother
• Because of Bucket's aura, she isn't unconsious, but she is still charmed by the mirror
• Scribes tries to Dimension Door Queen Clover to safety
• She tells her that she will take her to safety, and to her husband
• Sylword backs her up,
• Pot emminates hope towards her, and Scribes feels a strong urge to get out of here
• Bucket smites Malagnim, strikes him and throws him to the ground
• Erin tries to Hold Monster, but fails
• Her Mind Sliver is also resisted
• "The song is complete. Now here, the first total performance"
• The violin music shift in tone and intensity, into his song: The Voice of the Sun, the song that outshone morning
• He plays the song on the flute
• A spectral echo of Coty's soul is torn from her body and attacks Erin
• Coty manages to shake off the mirror effect
• Sylword casts Conjure Celestial
• Malagnim tries to counterspell, but is in turn counterspelled by Erin
• Malagnim casts Bladesong, then conjures a more alive version of the Empress
• She immediately dies from the celestial light
• Bucket continues his onslaught, bringing him to the floor
• Malagnim starts the second verse, annoyed that we ruined the first one. The sun that kneels to ___
• All light dims to barely any
• He then tries to frighten Sylword, but fails because of Bucket's aura
• "Perfection is not seen in life, but in the endless echo of it"
• Coty Cone of Colds
• Bucket
• Scribes and Pot appear at the surface
• Pot seems to be fighting against control magic from her forehead carving
• There is divine magic helping her fight it
• Scribes casts a 6th level Dispel Magic, but fails miserably (rolled a 4 & 2...)
• On their way to the palace, Scribes tries and fails again
• Her last attemt (no more slots above 2) fails as well
• Bucket strikes Malagnim a final time, being as boring and non-dramatic as possible
• Malagnim leans into the strike, making it a dramatic sacrifice moment
• "You think this is silence, that this ends the performance? No this is merely the rest before the refrain. Just you wait my son, my dog(???)"
• He disappears amidts dark runes made from blood, igniting as his body is jerked upwards by spectral chains
• He is burned into a skeleton, runes crawling over his bones
• "Perfection is not found in life, but in the endless echo of it"
• "Encore, my prodigé"
• We're suspicious of how deliberate the defeat seemed
• Sylword kills the rest of the hooded figures, burning them to dust
• They don't react to this at all, as they die
• The last remaining one outside the light gets pushed into it
• He feels this immense feeling of sorrow and grief, and can't stop himself from crying
• He prays for their next life
• The sorrow dampens slightly as he feels the heat of the forge, assuring him that this direction will reshape and renew
• With the last cultist cleansed, there is a sense of anger towards Sylword
• This is not Moradin, but another presence
• They loot the room
• Malagnim's rapier and his broken violin is on the ground
• Sylword mends the violin
• The rapier is made of songsteel, and it's hand guard shimmers with magic
• The rapier interacts with Bucket when he picks it up, resonating with his soul
• It's calming him by amplifying the calmness of the room into Bucket
• Erin uses the lunchbox the servant brought for pot earlier, to Teleport up to the kitchen
• The party catch up to Scribes, Pot and the guard that is helping Scribes carry her
• Sylword yells at the guard to drop Pot. He obeys, and takes out his sword to stand guard
• He manages to Dispel Magic on the control effect. He acts as a catalyst for divine power, following the guidance from Scribes
• Bucket pours in all his healing magic, to stop the constantly bleeding wounds
• there's now only a slight hint of a scar on her forehead
• The Queen jumps at Sylword and clutches him fiercly
• Sylword: "It's alright. I'm so sorry, but it's ok now"

Plan

Scribes is exhausted (only two spell slots left)

• Bring the Queen back to King Clover
• Check if the King is still acting weirdly

• Find the ghost child of Malagnim and the Empress
• Copy the elevator design for the hidden Pot room for Veilhearth
• Investigate the Glyph of Warding on the teleportation circle in the Rockwater estate
• Has to be investigated from the material plane, but there's lots of guards, and a diviner(?)
• We have to figure out if the sacrifices are permanent, or will go away
• Coty must protect the white dragon egg (it likes cold)
• Get the sibling dwarves home
• Get the two souls back to their bodies
• Coty might want to figure out how to deal with her two pokemon parents
• Sylword can cast Locate Object on the knife that was left on the other side of the Lorladon portal
• Scribes want's to save the last familiar
• We should turn Custodian Auren over to the Path of Hill, claiming that we held him while we investigated his crime of impersonating the Emperor
• Or whatever the party agrees to do
