- Sarmo, Lives in the forest, alone. Used to live in the village, but not anymore
- The Lady doesn't seem to like her very much, so they threw her out
- Seems to know something about magic, but not holding back info that much
- The Eaglewaters are the nobles of these lands
- To the west is the Elven Forest (not many miles, maybe not a good idea to go there)
- The elves call it Krisfiel
- T knows of it
- We're very far west from any big cities
- Tidehaven is far east from here
- Lake Inna(?) is not too far south of here
- Head there for a bigger city
- She wants to help if we're against the Lord
- Asks if T would like to alert her allies, or if they would just go to the woman's home
- They decide to head back to the clearing to introduce the others to Sarmo, and then check on the tracks of the watchers from last night
- While T is away, Coty casts Greater Restoration on S
- S is trying to run away from her, throwing his hammer at her (hitting)
- She eventually teleports to him, managing to cast it
- He can't remember anything of what happened
- Coty isn't being very helpful in making him remember
- The others go to check if T is ok
- T introduces Sarmo
- Coty says she fixed S
- She recognizes M
- Calls him Escanor
- (He suddenly remember his past)
- She jumps at him to hug him, crying out of joy
- He calls her mother
- She doesn't know who Rockwater is
- The Lord is Bastian Eaglewater, Lord of Eagle Cliff, leader of the green eagles
- Suddenly there's a massive explosion to the west
- Then booming voice: "Manath! Face me for your honour!"
- A towering figure (giant?? As tall as the trees) + 5 figures that appears to be levitating down
- M says he has to fight him, his mother tries to get him to run. Wants him to go to her hut, to get something?
- He gives in, we run north
- We reach the hut, she's desperately looking for something
- M says he has to face him
- She gives him a vial
- She whispers something in his ear
- T tries to steal a necklace with a ring on it
- Sarmo notices, but T manages to lie har way out of confrontation (puts it back tho)
- M reveals this giant is Bastion Eaglewater (M knows he is not always this big)
- S's plan:
- C tries to scatter the normal sized people, so T can take them out easier.
- M & S tries to stall the big guy, stopping him from moving
- Sarmo will try to hide the crone
- We fight!
- There's 2 knights, 2 archers, a white hooded figure and Lord Bastian Eaglewater
- Eaglewater commands the others to leave M be, but fight us others
- M insists on fighting Eaglewater alone
- Eaglewater looks like the person from M's painting
- M: "You speak an awful lot of honour for one who comes triple his size to fight me"
- T crits one of the archers for 47 dmg, then hides again (He's not dead)
- Coty is shot, then Fireballed, and is now very hurt
- T keeps shooting, doing a lot of dmg, then disappearing
- Coty goes down
- M: "Honour this, honour that. You speak a lot about honour for someone who got all those children killed for his lack of thereof"
- Bastian is very distracted by how M knows this
- "You don't understand. I have sacrificed everything!"
- M: "Including your children apparently"
- Bastian grapples M, and spreads his (aasimar?) wings to carry them both into the air (60ft)
- Bastian calls M "son"
- S casts banishment on Bastian
- S notices that one of the glowing emeralds in Bastian's armour cracks open. Everyone hears laughter in their ears
- Bastian has 3 of these emeralds
- T finally kills the archer she has been shooting
- This reveals her position to the mage, which casts Mass Suggestion. "Witness the fight (between M and Bastian Eaglewater)"
- T crits fails. Sits down on the ground and starts looking at the fight in the air
- M chugs the potion. He feels lighter, and eagle wings sprouts from his back
- Bastian keeps dragging him upwards 60 ft more, then releasing him
- "You are my last living son, you must have honour!"
- "Even if you are illegitimate, you are still my son"
- S banishes the two knights he's facing
- T is intently trying to memorize every detail of the fight in the sky (There are no saves, and it's not even concentration… :/ )
- The Diviner casts a spell, creating a golden/glowing bead by T
- Bastian: "Show me you have honour son. You must succeed me"
- "It was me that sent those bandits. That village was my village, it's people mine to do what I wanted with(?). I had to get you out of there. I bought you"
- S finally gets over to heal Coty
- She turns into a Giant Eagle, to fly up to M and heal him
- Before she reaches him, the Diviner shoots Rays of Fire and brings her out of her eagle form, making her plummet to the ground
- M: "I don't really see any point in this honour you preach so much about"
- Bastian says that he sent M to the arena because Lady Eaglewater wanted him gone as they were with child (a new son)
- C uses her second wild shape to turn into another Giant Eagle, and keeps ascending
- She finally reaches him, and heals him with Cure Wounds
- This takes her out of her form, and she is falling again. this time without a wild shape to save her
- S is downed by the last archer, making the knights appear out of their banishment
- The Diviner starts rummaging through S's belongings
- He finds the purple cloak of the Watch, the signet ring of Auberon Rockwater, and a Green Eagle Insignia
- M tries to catch C, but she slips through his fingers. Bastion stops him from following her further
- However M crits to avoid Bastions grapple, so he manages to catch her anyway.
- M flies over to the cliff (of the keep) to put C down
- Worried that they might have attacked the wrong guy, the diviner commands the archer to tie S up, heals him, and prepares to interrogate him
- Bastion says he will help M, and cracks another of the emeralds.
- Everyone hears more laughter in their minds, but M and C also hears it coming from the keep
- "Maybe I judged you poorly son. But(?) you have it in you. You just have to reach."
- As Bastion KO's M, M moves into the strike and stabs his glaive into the last emerald
- Both goes unconscious. Their wings evaporate and they start falling
- S uses his spiritual weapon to cut the ropes and run away
- He reaches T, but she's not responding to him at all, still 'witnessing the fight'
- C tries to rappel down the cliff, but loses hold of the rope.
- She manages to grab hold of the cliff before falling too far
- She tries to Misty Step to where she thinks is safe, but slips and falls (150 ft above ground?)
- The Diviner activates the Delayed Fireball, downing S
- T is now out of the Suggestion
Plan: GTFO. Maybe return to the crone and ask her who she is/was. Consider whether she should ditch the others to get to Hogo-Sha. If the enemies are busy looking at the falling people, she might be able to drag S to safety.
The crone might be able to teleport her to Hogo-Sha
Sarmo might be able to heal S so T can talk to him
Thunder is starting to get really tired of people messing with her mind. First all that happened back in Yin, now Rockwater, the Tabaxi-death-maze and the Diviner.
If T can talk to S. Say something like this:
"Listen to me carefully Sylword. I don't have time to sugar coat this for you, or play nice. I need to get to Hogo-Sha as fast as possible.
I thought there was a better chance of me getting there if I stuck with this group, but the constant trouble we're getting into makes me think you might be slowing me down.
I'm going to talk to the old woman, and when I'm done you'll either give me a good reason for staying and helping you, or this will be where we part ways."
